Tockr is a new American watch brand created by Austin Ivy and launched in 2017. Tockr watches feature novel designs reminiscent of the aviation industry’s most famous aircraft, including the C-47, which inspired Tockr’s C-47 watch series.

Tockr’s C-47 watches were named after the Douglas C-47 Skytrain flown during World War II. Tockr's models include the C-47 Radial and C-47 Radial Wing

These watches feature a design inspired by the radial engines of the C-47 planes. The watch face has Super-LumiNova hands that dramatically increase visibility, making it easy to read in low-light conditions. The face of the watch is cast in bronze and then finished in black, silver, or dark gray and hand-polished for a distinctive style.

The C-47’s uniquely designed case, stainless steel housing, and brushed and polished finish offer a vintage yet modern style that makes the watch versatile enough to wear during the day or in the evening.

Tockr - High End Timepieces with a Focus on U.S. Army Aviation

Reflecting the Texas roots of founder Austin Ivey, Tockr™ is an emerging watch company whose Swiss-made creations take direct inspiration from 20th century U.S. military aviation traditions. Marking the launch of Tockr’s initial C-47-inspired lineup, the brand was featured in a late 2017 Robb Report article that named Tockr part of an “American watchmaking renaissance.”

As Ivey describes it, he grew up spending quality time in north Dallas with a grandfather who flew a C-47 transport plane during World War II. He often had the chance to accompany him in a Cessna 182 and developed a love of flying. His Tockr concept developed from a desire to honor his grandfather’s military service and, by extension, an entire generation of aviation veterans.

A major inspiration for Ivey involved coming across a C-47 radial engine design that seemed perfect for a watch. Emphasizing quality and affordability, he worked with TEC Ebauches to create a unique design that combines Swiss-made automatic movements in a timepiece priced in a comfortable range of $1,000 to $3,000. A lineup that includes the C47 Radial Wing and Air Defender pilot’s chronograph was expanded in late 2018 with the Tockr D-Day C-47, which is crafted from salvaged C-47 aircraft materials.
